Workshops & Events
The Roving South studio runs small, hands-on workshops for spinners, weavers, and fibre enthusiasts at all stages. Places are limited deliberately — small groups mean better learning and more time with the tutor.

Learn to Weave on the Rigid Heddle Saturday 23 May 2026 · 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM Mole Creek Studio · 4 places available · $90
Are you a spinner wondering what to do with all that lovely yarn you've been making? A knitter or crocheter staring down a stash you'll never get through fast enough? A rigid heddle loom lets you produce beautiful cloth with a relatively small investment of time — and this is the workshop to get you started.
Led by experienced tutor and rigid heddle weaver Eva Ruzicka, you'll be guided through everything from getting to know the loom, setting it up, weaving your first sample of cloth, and getting ready to start a simple project such as a scarf.
We provide looms, scissors, and an assortment of yarns. Bring your own lunch, a flexible tape measure, and something to take notes with.
What's included: All materials, looms to use, and after-workshop support.
Follow-Up Clinic Sunday 24 May 2026 · 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM Free for attendees of the May or March workshops
Come back with your questions, your half-finished project, and whatever went sideways during the week. This is unstructured time in the studio to consolidate what you learned and get unstuck.
