Studio Visit (free appointment)

Regular price Free
Taxes included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

Description

Step into the studio at Roving South for a quiet, unhurried visit.

A studio visit is a free, bookable time for you to collect an existing order, view yarns, fibres, tools, and equipment in person, or talk through ideas for a future purchase.

Visits take place in Mole Creek, Tasmania, and are by appointment only so there is time set aside just for you.

This booking reserves your time in the studio. It is not a purchase in itself, and any products you choose during your visit are paid for separately.

If there is something in particular you would like to see, please add a note when booking so it can be prepared where possible.

Visit details

Your booking gives you dedicated time in the studio to browse, ask questions, and see selected stock in person without feeling rushed.

  • Studio visits are suitable for:
  • order pickup
  • viewing available fibre or other products
  • consultation on big ticket purchases, such as that new wheel or loom and a chance to try before you buy
  • consultation on a planned product or future order

Appointments may vary slightly from week to week depending on studio availability, teaching, and other commitments.

FAQs

Do I pay for the visit?
No. The booking itself is free. You only pay for any products you decide to purchase during or after your visit.

Can I use this to collect an existing order?
Yes. Studio visits are a good option for order pickup. If possible, include your order number in the booking notes so everything can be ready for you.

What if the time slot I want isn’t available?
If the time you were hoping for isn’t showing, that slot is either already booked or not available in the current schedule. Please choose the nearest available time and add a note with your preferred day or time. If there is any flexibility that week, you will be contacted to adjust the booking where possible.

What if I want to see something specific?
Please include a note when booking. While not everything may be available at all times, specific yarns, fibres, tools, or equipment can often be prepared in advance if requested.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
If your plans change, please use the link in your confirmation email to reschedule or cancel as early as possible.

Sourcing & Materials

Sustainable sourcing

The equipment I stock comes from makers I respect — Ashford, Schacht, Majacraft — who build things designed to last decades, not seasons. The fibre is Tasmanian where I can source it, because buying from down the road is the most straightforward version of this. I won't stock something I don't believe in, which means the range is deliberately small.

What I'd use myself

Everything in the store has been through the same filter: would I use this myself? If the answer is no, it doesn't make it onto the website. That means the range is deliberately narrow — there are no products here to fill a gap or round out a catalogue. What's here is here because I'd stake my own time and reputation on it.

Wool miles

Fibre has a journey before it reaches you — where it was grown, where it was shorn, where it was processed, and how far it travelled at each stage. I think you deserve to know that. Where I can tell you the origin, I will. Where I can source locally, I do. This isn't a marketing position — it's just what honest dealing looks like.
